Introduction of Ballarat

Located in the interior of central Victoria, about 110km by car from Victoria's capital, Melbourne, and with a permanent population of about 100000, Ballarat is Victoria's third-largest city after (Geelong), Melbourne alone.

Ballarat is Australia's most famous ancient city of gold, as early as 1851, gold miners first found gold in the south of Australia's mainland, so the world set off a gold rush, a large number of European, American and Asian gold hunters poured into Ballarat,. Rich gold reserves also made the city once rich. At the beginning of the 20th century, the gold had been wiped out, so the 50-year-old gold rush became history.

Ballarat, built with roads, train and airport facilities, is a major industrial city in Victoria, with several famous local companies. Important local industries include gold, clay, potatoes, wool and meat processing. In addition, Ballarat's tourism service industry is also very developed, and now it has become an important tourism city in Victoria. It is a theme park transformed from abandoned gold mines: (Sovereign Hill Historical Park) is the most famous tourist attraction in Ballarat. The house, schools, churches, shops and streets of the park retain the look of the 19th-century gold rush, while workers wear the clothes of the day, and visitors to the park pass through the tunnel of time and remain quiet in the old gold rush.

Ballarat is also home to the main campus of (Federation University Australia), the Federal University of Australia, which was formed in 2010 by a merger of the (University of Ballarat) of Ballarat University and the (Monash University) Gypsland campus of Monash University, founded in 1870.
