The helicopter was found in the mountains east of Kauai about 9.30am on Friday. There were no signs of passengers or pilots on the wreckage.

The Mayor of Kauai, Derek Kawakami, said," Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of these passengers... The operation continues and we are doing everything we can...".
